My baby is four today. And by baby, I do mean my dog.
This amazing furry soul has been through the darkest and brightest moments of my life – sent straight from my gramma herself up in heaven. Olive has been the source of so much happiness and joy, and comforted me in some of the hardest times. She’s been to college, been my only roommate, watched me get married, and now sleeps peacefully between my husband and I every night (like a little human with her head on the pillow and little body under the covers). I couldn’t imagine life, where I’d be, or even who I’d be today without her.
It’s amazing how something so small can be the biggest light in your life.
I made her some adorable mini “pupcakes”. They are all natural, with no flour (gluten), dairy, and minimal sugar. The cake consists of oat flour, apple sauce, honey, peanut butter, baking powder, pumpkin puree and an egg. And the “frosting” is peanut butter, pumpkin, vanilla rice milk, honey, and a tiny bit of oat flour to thicken it. And I topped them with colored sprinkles, because why not?
And yes, I did put a candle in one and light it for my baby. It’s the least I can do.
She doesn’t know she’s a dog, and that’s okay. To me, she’s so much more.
My Dad came into town for the weekend to help my Grandma around the house, so I was able to spend some quality father-daughter time with him, and sneak in some Seattle street photography. It was a lot of fun. I cheated unbelievably on my diet. And we went all over Seattle. I toted my camera everywhere and looked so much like a tourist- I can do that right? Isn’t there a time frame that says I can be a tourist for X amount of time in my new city?
So, where did we go? Kirkland’s quaint downtown (DELISH fried chicken at the BeachHouse aka the old Foghorn), my Grandma’s backyard, Wallingford and Discovery Park, the U-District, Greenlake… you name it, we went! Oh, and we explored BevMo… WOW. Talk about an amazing neighborhood addition.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
